About the Project

Isaksengården is a mixed-use residential and commercial development located in the historic cultural environment on the west side of Kongsberg. The project includes 19 approved apartments and 3 commercial units, carefully integrated into a heritage-protected building. Just steps away from the Krona university campus, the development showcases how traditional architecture can be harmonized with modern living standards.

Design & Materials

The renovation prioritizes preservation while upgrading the building to meet today’s technical and functional standards. Original features have been restored wherever possible, with discreet integration of new insulation and energy-efficient solutions. The interiors feature high-quality materials, muted tones, and exposed structural details such as original timber beams – all contributing to the building’s historical character.

Outcome

The project is currently under development, with the first residential sales phase scheduled to begin in May 2025. Isaksengården stands as a model for sustainable urban renewal – breathing new life into a heritage structure while improving its functionality and environmental performance for future residents and businesses.
